Acceptance of Terms
By downloading, installing, accessing, or using the Tadbir mobile application (the "App"), you agree to be bound by these Terms of Use ("Terms"). If you do not agree to these Terms, do not use the App.
These Terms constitute a legally binding agreement between you ("User", "you", or "your") and TadbirLabs ("we", "us", or "our").
Important: Please read these Terms carefully before using the App. Your continued use of the App constitutes acceptance of any updates to these Terms.
License to Use
Subject to your compliance with these Terms, we grant you a limited, non-exclusive, non-transferable, non-sublicensable, revocable license to:
- Download and install the App on devices you own or control
- Use the App for your personal, non-commercial budgeting and expense tracking purposes
License Restrictions
You may NOT:
- Copy, modify, or create derivative works based on the App
- Reverse engineer, decompile, or disassemble the App
- Remove, alter, or obscure any proprietary notices on the App
- Rent, lease, lend, sell, redistribute, or sublicense the App
- Use the App for any commercial purpose without our written permission
- Use the App in any way that violates applicable laws or regulations
Accounts & Registration
No Account Required (Default)
Tadbir operates offline-first and does not require account registration for basic functionality. Your data is stored locally on your device.
Optional Cloud Accounts (Future Feature)
If we introduce optional cloud accounts or synchronization services in the future:
- You will be required to create an account with a valid email address
- You must provide accurate, current, and complete information
- You are responsible for maintaining the confidentiality of your account credentials
- You are responsible for all activities that occur under your account
- You must immediately notify us of any unauthorized access or security breach
Additional terms for cloud accounts will be presented in-app before account creation.
Subscriptions, Payments & Refunds
Free Core Features
Tadbir's core expense tracking features are free to use with no subscription required, including:
- Unlimited transaction recording
- Basic categories and budgets
- Local data storage
- Export to CSV/JSON
- Basic reports and charts
Premium Features (If Offered)
We may offer premium features via in-app subscription, which may include:
- Cloud sync across unlimited devices
- Advanced analytics and financial insights
- Unlimited custom categories and budgets
- Priority customer support
- Automatic receipt scanning (OCR)
- Bank account integration (if available in your region)
- Ad-free experience (though we don't show ads in free version either)
Subscription Terms
Pricing & Billing
- Payment Processing: All subscriptions are processed through Apple App Store (iOS) or Google Play Store (Android). We do not collect payment information directly.
- Pricing: Current pricing is displayed in the app before purchase and varies by region and currency. Prices include applicable taxes where required by law.
- Billing Cycle: Subscriptions are available as:
- Monthly: Billed every 30 days
- Annual: Billed every 12 months (typically at a discounted rate)
- Auto-Renewal: Subscriptions automatically renew at the end of each billing cycle unless canceled at least 24 hours before the renewal date.
- Billing Date: You will be charged on the date you subscribe and on the same date each billing period thereafter.
Free Trials
If a free trial is offered for premium features:
- Trial Duration: Typically 7 or 14 days, as clearly stated at sign-up
- Full Access: You have complete access to premium features during the trial
- Auto-Conversion: Unless you cancel before the trial ends, your subscription will automatically convert to a paid subscription
- Cancellation: You can cancel anytime during the trial through App Store/Play Store settings without being charged
- Trial Access: If you cancel during the trial, you retain access until the trial period expires
- One Trial Per User: Free trials are limited to one per user/account
Cancellation
- How to Cancel: Manage subscriptions through:
- iOS: Settings → [Your Name] → Subscriptions → Tadbir → Cancel Subscription
- Android: Play Store → Menu → Subscriptions → Tadbir → Cancel Subscription
- Effective Date: Cancellation takes effect at the end of your current billing period
- Continued Access: You retain access to premium features until the subscription expires
- Data Retention: Your data remains accessible after cancellation; only premium features are disabled
- No Partial Refunds: Canceling mid-cycle does not entitle you to a prorated refund
Price Changes
- Advance Notice: We will notify you at least 30 days before any price increase
- Existing Subscribers: You maintain your current rate until your next renewal after the notice period
- Right to Cancel: If you disagree with a price change, you can cancel before it takes effect
- Acceptance: Continuing your subscription after a price change constitutes acceptance of the new price
Refunds
App Store Refund Policy
- Processor: Refunds are handled by Apple (iOS) or Google (Android), not directly by TadbirLabs
- How to Request:
- iOS: Visit reportaproblem.apple.com → Find your purchase → Request Refund
- Android: Play Store → Account → Order History → Find purchase → Request Refund
- Eligibility: Typically within 14 days of purchase (varies by jurisdiction and store policy)
- Store Discretion: Apple and Google have final authority over refund approval
Our Refund Commitment
While we cannot process refunds directly, we are committed to your satisfaction:
- Support First: If you experience issues with premium features, contact us at support@tadbirlabs.com before requesting a refund. We'll do our best to resolve the issue.
- Technical Issues: If premium features don't work due to our bug, we'll assist with your refund request to the app store
- Billing Errors: If you were charged incorrectly, we'll provide documentation to support your refund request
- Dissatisfaction: If you're simply unhappy with the service within the first 14 days, we'll guide you through the refund process
No Refunds For
- Subscriptions canceled after the current billing period has started
- Lack of use or forgetting to cancel before renewal
- Third-party service failures (e.g., cloud provider issues)
- Change of mind after 14 days (subject to store policies)
- Incompatibility due to device not meeting minimum requirements (stated on store page)
User Responsibilities
Acceptable Use
You agree to use the App in accordance with all applicable laws and these Terms. You are responsible for:
- Device Security: Securing your device with a passcode/PIN and biometric authentication
- Data Backups: Creating backups of your financial data (local exports or optional cloud backups)
- Accurate Data Entry: Ensuring the accuracy of data you input into the App
- Legal Compliance: Using the App only for lawful purposes
- Personal Use: Using the App primarily for personal, non-commercial expense tracking
Prohibited Activities
You may NOT:
- Use the App for any illegal purpose or to violate any laws
- Use the App to track or monitor expenses for illegal activities (money laundering, fraud, tax evasion)
- Attempt to gain unauthorized access to any part of the App or related systems
- Interfere with or disrupt the App or servers (if applicable)
- Use automated scripts or bots to access the App
- Impersonate another person or entity
- Upload or share malicious code through the App
Third-Party Services
The App may integrate with or rely on third-party services (e.g., cloud storage providers, payment processors). Your use of these services is governed by their respective terms and privacy policies:
- Apple App Store Terms
- Google Play Terms of Service
- Google Drive Terms (if you use cloud backup)
- iCloud Terms (if you use cloud backup)
We are not responsible for any third-party services or their availability, functionality, or compliance with laws.
Intellectual Property
The App and all its content, features, and functionality (including but not limited to design, text, graphics, logos, icons, images, audio, video, software code) are owned by TadbirLabs or our licensors and are protected by international copyright, trademark, patent, trade secret, and other intellectual property laws.
Our Trademarks
- "Tadbir" and "تدبير" are trademarks of TadbirLabs
- The Tadbir logo and app icon are trademarks of TadbirLabs
- You may not use our trademarks without prior written permission
Your Data
You retain all rights to the financial data you input into the App. We claim no ownership over your transactions, notes, categories, or other user-generated content.
Feedback
If you provide feedback, suggestions, or ideas about the App, you grant us a perpetual, irrevocable, worldwide, royalty-free license to use, modify, and incorporate such feedback into the App without compensation or attribution.
Prohibited Uses
In addition to the restrictions mentioned above, you may NOT use the App to:
- Facilitate, track, or manage illegal financial transactions
- Violate export control or sanctions laws
- Infringe on intellectual property rights of others
- Transmit harmful computer code or malware
- Collect data about other users (not applicable; single-user app)
- Create accounts using false information (for future account features)
- Resell or redistribute the App or subscriptions
- Use the App in a manner that violates app store guidelines
Disclaimers
AS-IS Basis
THE APP IS PROVIDED ON AN "AS IS" AND "AS AVAILABLE" BASIS WITHOUT WARRANTIES OF ANY KIND, EITHER EXPRESS OR IMPLIED, INCLUDING BUT NOT LIMITED TO:
- Warranties of merchantability
- Warranties of fitness for a particular purpose
- Warranties of non-infringement
- Warranties that the App will be uninterrupted, secure, or error-free
- Warranties that defects will be corrected
- Warranties regarding the accuracy or reliability of data
Not Financial Advice
Important: Tadbir is a tool for tracking expenses and managing budgets. It is NOT financial advice, tax advice, legal advice, or investment advice. Do not rely solely on the App for financial decision-making. Consult qualified professionals for financial, tax, and legal advice.
Data Accuracy
We are not responsible for:
- Errors in data entry
- Inaccuracies in financial calculations (though we strive for accuracy)
- Data loss due to device failure, user error, or third-party service failures
- Tax calculation errors (if tax features are added)
- Currency conversion inaccuracies
Third-Party Services
We are not responsible for the availability, accuracy, security, or functionality of third-party services (cloud storage, payment processors, etc.).
Limitation of Liability
Liability Cap
TO THE MAXIMUM EXTENT PERMITTED BY LAW, TADBIRLABS SHALL NOT BE LIABLE FOR ANY INDIRECT, INCIDENTAL, SPECIAL, CONSEQUENTIAL, PUNITIVE, OR EXEMPLARY DAMAGES, INCLUDING BUT NOT LIMITED TO:
- Loss of profits, revenue, or business
- Loss of data (always maintain backups)
- Loss of goodwill or reputation
- Cost of substitute services
- Financial losses resulting from inaccurate data or calculations
- Damages arising from use or inability to use the App
Maximum Liability
OUR TOTAL LIABILITY FOR ALL CLAIMS ARISING FROM OR RELATED TO THE APP SHALL NOT EXCEED THE GREATER OF:
- The amount you paid us in the 12 months before the claim arose, OR
- $50 USD (if you have not paid us anything)
Jurisdiction Limitations
Some jurisdictions do not allow the exclusion or limitation of certain warranties or liabilities. In such jurisdictions, our liability is limited to the maximum extent permitted by law.
Dispute Resolution
Informal Resolution
Before initiating any formal dispute resolution process, you agree to first contact us at legal@tadbirlabs.com to attempt to resolve the issue informally. We commit to responding within 5 business days and making a good-faith effort to resolve the dispute within 30 days.
Arbitration
If informal resolution fails, any disputes arising from or related to these Terms or the App shall be resolved through binding arbitration in accordance with:
- Egyptian Law: If you reside in Egypt, arbitration will be conducted under Egyptian arbitration rules
- International Users: If you reside outside Egypt, arbitration will be conducted under the UNCITRAL Arbitration Rules
- Language: Arbitration proceedings will be conducted in English or Arabic, as mutually agreed
- Location: Arbitration will take place in Cairo, Egypt, or remotely via video conference if both parties agree
- Costs: Each party bears its own costs, unless the arbitrator decides otherwise
Small Claims Court
Notwithstanding the arbitration requirement, you may bring claims in small claims court if the claim qualifies and the court has jurisdiction.
Class Action Waiver
TO THE EXTENT PERMITTED BY LAW, YOU AGREE TO RESOLVE DISPUTES ON AN INDIVIDUAL BASIS AND WAIVE THE RIGHT TO PARTICIPATE IN CLASS ACTIONS, CLASS ARBITRATIONS, OR REPRESENTATIVE ACTIONS.
Injunctive Relief
Either party may seek injunctive relief in court to prevent infringement of intellectual property rights or breach of confidentiality obligations.
Governing Law & Jurisdiction
- Governing Law: These Terms are governed by the laws of the Arab Republic of Egypt, without regard to conflict of law principles
- Venue: Exclusive jurisdiction lies with the competent courts in Cairo, Egypt, for any disputes not subject to arbitration
- Language: The English version of these Terms is the official version. Translations are provided for convenience only.
- International Users: If you use the App from outside Egypt, you are responsible for complying with your local laws
Changes to These Terms
We reserve the right to modify these Terms at any time. When we make changes:
- Notification: We will update the "Last updated" date and may notify you through the App or via email (if you have an account)
- Material Changes: For significant changes, we will provide at least 30 days' notice and request your explicit agreement
- Continued Use: Your continued use of the App after changes take effect constitutes acceptance of the modified Terms
- Disagreement: If you disagree with the changes, you must stop using the App and may request a refund for any unexpired subscription period
